Northwest Indiana entrepreneurs and small business owners oftentimes have to do a lot of their work at home or, perhaps, at a table in a local coffee shop. Purdue University Northwest is creating what are called "co-working" spaces that will serve businesses that have a manufacturing emphasis.
I talked with Mont Handley of the Hammond campus' Commercialization and Manufacturing Excellence Center about these new spaces, which will open on a "soft launch" on July 24th and officially on National Coworking Day, August 9th. And, he says, there are plenty of spaces available.
