The final forum held by the West Lafayette-based Purdue Institute for Civic Communication focused on how little public schools devote its curriculum to civic education and, in turn, how little Americans really know about their country's system of government.
Ambassador Carolyn Curiel, a northwest Indiana native, is the executive director for the Institute. She came on "Regionally Speaking" on Monday to talk about the topics discussed at that forum held in Washington, D.C. The Institute is in its final months of operation because its four-year grant from the Denver-based Daniels Fund is coming to an end.
