Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Today:  excerpts from Friday's vigil and rally outside the Gary-Chicago International Airport of citizens protesting the Immigration and Customs Enforcement flights of deported undocumented immigrants out of the Midwest.  About 50 people stood in the chilly winds along Airport Road outside the Airport, listening to speakers and chanting in protest when two unmarked buses filled with deportees passed by.

Indiana Public Broadcasting's Peter Balanon-Rosen has a report on "sanctuary campuses" and where Hoosier colleges and universities stand on the controversial issue.

Lakeshore Public Radio's Steven Lattimore talked with the superintendent of the School City of East Chicago about the referendum coming before voters in May, seeking more funds to cover the financial issues caused by the lead-arsenic contamination issue.  The school district is dealing with an enrollment decrease caused by families forced to move out of their contaminated homes -- and that means less state funds coming into the East Chicago public schools.

The website MoneyRates.com just released a list of "Best States for Milennials," and Richard Barrington of MoneyRates tells us where Indiana placed on the list (#10), and what data was used to determine the rankings.
