IUPUI MEDICAL HUMANITIES

Today:   Indiana University Northwest professors Susan Zinner, Jonathyne Briggs and  Monica Solinas-Saunders, on their "Health Studies Consortium" project that is a winner of the first "IU Regional Campus Grand Challenge Initiative."  The program awards regional campus faculty members who use multidisciplinary efforts to address complex challenges to their communities.

Jan O'Neill with the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Population Health Institute joins us to talk about the latest Indiana county health rankings, posted online at countyhealthrankings.org.  The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Population Health Institute work together on this project, to provide a snapshot of the health of all Americans, including residents of northwest Indiana.

And Indiana Public Broadcasting's Annie Ropeik has an updated report on East Chicago residents of the lead-tainted West Calumet Housing Project who must move out of their contaminated residences by March 31st or be moved.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
