Today: A conversation with Marion Kellum, the Crown Point resident who learned about the first (and, for now, only) Lake County Sheriff, Lillian Holley, and her link to the infamous gangster John Dillinger. Kellum wrote a play several decades ago about Lillian but it's just now coming to the "stage" in the Maki Ballroom of the historic Old Courthouse in Crown Point this coming weekend.
Indian Youth Institute President-CEO Tami Silverman joins us to talk about the Lake and Porter County data in this year's IYI Kids Count Data Book, which gives anyone who reviews it a picture of what it's like to be a child in the Hoosier State.
Myra Selby with the Indiana Supreme Court's Commission on Race and Gender Fairness talks about tonight's community forum to be held on the Indiana University Northwest campus in Gary. It's the third such forum in Gary held by the Commission, which makes recommendations to the state's highest court on matters involving race and gender fairness. The forum is open to the public, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Anderson Conference Room. It is one of five such community forums scheduled around the state.
