New Governor Flexes His Political Muscles

Governor's Office

Indiana's new Governor, Eric Holcomb, held his first news conference last week -- one month after being sworn into office.   Andy Downs of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics joined us on "Regionally Speaking" on Tuesday to talk about that first official meeting with the media.

Downs also talked about the first executive orders he made, including one affecting East Chicago, and of lawmakers' overturning vetoes that Governor Mike Pence made before he left office for his new role as Vice President.  Is this Indiana voters' first view of Holcomb's administration as former Governor Mike Pence's successor?  Here's the conversation.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
