Holiday Programming 2024
Christmastime in New Orleans 12/5, 6 pm and other times
Taped in part at the historic Saenger Theatre in downtown New Orleans, the special spotlights a concert celebrating the city's vast and unique musical influences. Vibraphonist/percussionist Jason Marsalis and The NOLA Players perform a variety of holiday classics and a few of the Big Easy's finest chefs demonstrate recipes typical of New Orleans at Christmastime.
Celtic Woman: Postcards from Ireland (Holiday version) 12/9, 7 pm
As the world looks forward to getting together again, Celtic Woman shares a message of love and hope with fans around the world in the form of musical postcards, written with the songs from their latest album.

Urban Nutcracker puts a modern spin on the 19th Century fairy tale and transports the audience to an enchanted world not unlike their own.
American St. Nick 12/19, 9 pm
The documentary THE AMERICAN SAINT NICK chronicles a day at the height of the war when the battle-weary 28th Infantry Division of the American Army returned hope and joy to the children and people of this war-torn town. On Dec. 5, 1944, American soldiers, led by Harry Stuts, put their guns down for one day and organized a party celebrating the town’s centuries-old Saint Nick tradition
Ball & Vase 12/20, 11pm
Professor and magician Ed Coleman is ailing. He is 92 years old, widowed, a World War II veteran and living alone in a small apartment in Hoboken, NJ. He has been all but forgotten. Ed does have one thing that keeps him going—an upcoming visit by his grandson on Christmas. But a change plans leaves Ed with one last opportunity to reconnect with the world.

Making a triumphant return to Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota, "A St. Thomas Christmas: Reflections of Gratitude" enriches your holiday with the vitality of song. Featuring two world-premiere commissioned pieces by renowned composer Jack Stamp, sing-a-long holiday classics, and uplifting unique works, this hour-long concert elevates and sweetens your holiday festivities.
All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 12/23, 8 pm
The Western Front, Christmas, 1914. Out of the violence a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing “Stille Nacht.” Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, peace. A remarkable true story, told in the words and songs of the men who lived it.
Classic Christmas with the Bach Festival Society: Joyful Sounds 12/24, 8 pm
"A Classic Christmas" is a beloved Central Florida tradition. The Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra will be joined by the Bach Festival Children’s Choirs for this joyous celebration. This year’s program features custom arrangements of holiday classics created specifically for the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra.
Crane Candlelight Concert: Celebrating a Miracle 12/24, 11 pm
For more than 100 years, the Crane Candlelight Concert has ushered in the holiday season at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music. The 2023 Crane Candlelight Concert took place on Sunday, Dec. 3, featuring nearly 300 musicians on stage at the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall.
Christmas with Sir John Rutter at Preston Hollow 12/25, 8 am
Sir John Rutter conducts the famous Preston Hollow Sanctuary Choir, the Boys Choir of St. Mark’s School of Texas, soloists Josefina Maldonado and Erin Hannigan, and a professional orchestra in a selection of his most popular works.
Joy – Christmas with the Tabernacle Choir 12/25, 9 am
The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square are joined by award winning Indian American actor and singer Michael Maliakel (star of Disney's Aladdin on Broadway), and Lesley Nicol (known for role as Mrs. Patmore in Downton Abbey), to present a gorgeous collection of beloved Christmas songs as well as a reading of the Christmas story in Luke
Cultural Expressions: Kwanzaa 12/26, 9 am
Cultural Expressions: Kwanzaa is a one-hour documentary that explores the seven principles that are the foundation of Kwanzaa by sharing seven real-life stories of impact. These stories reveal how each principle plays a role in the Black community, enhanced by cultural elements of dance, storytelling, music, and spoken word.
