Midwest BEAT- TUESDAY, AUGUST 10th

TUESDAY, AUGUST 10th - 7:00-8:00pm

"MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" on 89.1-Lakeshore Public Radio and streaming at: www.lakeshorepublicradio.org

GUEST:  JENNIFER JEAN / Marketing Manager of "Brewski Fest"

This radio program will focus on a different kind of BEER FEST brewing in the Region on August 20th at Central Park Plaza

This novel new event is aptly called "Brewski Fest" and it is based on an idea as refreshing as an ice cold "Hamm's Beer," which just happens to be one of the many “old school” beers being served up at this "Retro" themed suds fest.  Others include: Schlitz, PBR, Bud, Strohs, Miller High Life, and a few other tasty brews.

"Brewski Fest" leaves the new fangled IPAs in the kegs, in favor of providing patrons with the beers enjoyed by past generations of Americans.

"Brewski Fest" celebrates and honors the old school beers of our fathers/mothers and grandparents. The mission of this frothy fest is to raise money for the charitable foundation -- Friends of the Indiana Dunes -- which sponsors invaluable educational and recreational opportunities at the Indiana Dunes National Park, the Indiana Dunes State Park, and the Dunes Learning Center.

Along with some beer-flavored tunes, show host Tom Lounges will chat with Jennifer Jean, one of the principles behind the event, which will feature live music by The Crawpuppies.

Helping to "roll out the barrel" will be women of the Southshore Roller Derby.

Lakeshore Public Radio 89.1FM, initially known as The Lakeshore 89.1FM, first hit the airwaves across Northwest Indiana on January 19, 2010. The station was created after the board of directors for Lakeshore Public Media, which also operates our sister station Lakeshore PBS, saw the need for regional access to a public radio station in order to provide localized up-to-the-minute news and information for NW Indiana residents.
