PART 2

TODAY: FRIDAY, JUNE 4 @ 1:00pm CST
“MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges”

GUEST: JOHNNY IGUANA of "THE CLAUDETTES"

Today's "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges" will feature a call in by JOHNNY IGUANA of the red hot Chicago group, THE CLAUDETTES, whose latest album "HIGH TIMES IN THE DARK," was released in 2020, but due to COVID-19 never had a chance to really get much promotion.

"HIGH TIMES IN THE DARK" is an excellent collection of new tunes that are the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed "DANCE SCANDAL AT THE GYMNASIUM," their previous album on Yellow Dog Records.

THE CLAUDETTES define the term eclectic when it comes to their sound. It blends piano blues with rockabilly and punk, jazz, with elements of ’60s soul. Group founder JOHNNY IGUANA rolls on the piano, alongside singer BERIT ULSETH, bassist/singer ZACH VERDOORN and drummer MICHAEL CASKEY to create a sound all their own.

In addition to his work with THE CLAUDETTES, guest JOHNNY IGUANA has a colorful musical history on his own.

Johnny has toured or recorded with such blues legends as Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, James Cotton and more. He also has toured and recorded with assorted side bands.
