CCR's Cosmo Clifford Takes Lakeshore Listeners Through His "Magic Window"

Brent Clifford

This edition of  "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" originally aired on TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2020

Guest:  DOUG "COSMO" CLIFFORD of Creedence Clearwater Revival & Creedence Clearwater Revisited

For this edition of Lakeshore Public Radio's twice weekly "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges," the show's host/producer Tom Lounges will chat by phone with "Rock And Roll Hall of Fame" inductee, DOUG "COSMO" CLIFFORD.

Clifford of course, was the drummer and co-founder of the iconic swamp rock group, CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL.  It was for his contributions to that group's accomplishments between 1968 and 1972 -- including sales of nearly 30 Million CCR records over the years -- that Clifford came to be inducted into the "Rock And Roll Hall of Fame" back in 1993.

For the last quarter century, ol' Cosmo has been keeping the beat and keeping that group's famous songbook alive with the international touring group, CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVISITED, which also featured original CCR bassist and childhood buddy STU COOK

Although best known for his time as CCR's drummer, Clifford has also been a singer, songwriter and producer on projects for a variety of artists including Doug Sahm, Greg Kihn and others, as well as his own solo albums.

It's one of those solo albums that brings Cosmo to Lakeshore Public Radio's airwaves for this program.  Originally recorded in 1985, the tapes for his never released second solo album, "Magic Window," were recently tweaked a bit and remastered by Clifford for global re-release in late April (4/20) on CD.
