GUEST: STEEPWATER BAND -- JOE WINTERS
Steepwater Band drummer and co-founder Joe Winters chats live on air with host Lounges by phone while respecting the social distancing mandate during the COVID-19 pandemic. The two old friends talk about the internationally popular and successful blues-rock band's seventh and latest album, "TURN OF THE WHEEL," being released worldwide via Diamond Day Records on April 24th.
"TURN OF THE WHEEL" is the global touring group's first new collection of music since 2016's "Shake Your Faith," and the first to feature SWB's new bassist Joe Bishop.
The live conversation covers such things as the making of the album, working with a favorite former studio producer again, how the internal chemistry and dynamic of the band has evolved with the addition of Bishop, having a some special musical guests sitting in on the recording sessions. Also discussed is how the well planned marketing and touring schedule has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this program, Lakeshore Radio listeners had the first opportunity in the world to hear a key selections from this new studio collection.
As it often does with its guests, "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges" was granted the honor of being able to debut broadcast five of the new SWB songs before any other radio station or program in the world.
