Switchfoot Hits Ravinia Audience with Ray of Positivity

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - The Lifehouse/Switchfoot concert at Ravinia August 29th included a special surprise, a street performance by Switchfoot lead singer Jon Foreman after the show.  Foreman put on a small acoustic set under a street light right across from the Ravinia entrance gate by the Metra stop.

Foreman says he does those "after shows" because he loves people and to raise awareness, support and to encourage everyone to sponsor a child, by supplying clean water to children who don't have access to it.

Amy Douglass from Lake Bluff (Illinois) said Switchfoot was like a giant ray of positivity.

Steve Douglass said he and his wife make it a point to get to Ravinia at least once a season.

Lifehouse had about a dozen fans standing off to the audience right side of the stage throughout the entire show. Bass player Bryce Soderberg greeted the audience before song #7 in the set saying the band hadn't toured in the U.S. in six years.

He then cited a band that inspired his band.  U2.  The band then did a cover of "Pride (In the Name of Love)."

Singer Jason Wade told the crowd Lifehouse has been together 17 years and has put on some great shows in the "Chicago" area.

He humbly thanked the audience for having the band at Ravinia and said he feel nostalgic performing in Chicago.  I especially loved "First Time."

The energy boost in the audience during that song was palpable. Hits "You and Me" and the final song, "Hanging by a Moment,"  which were the two final songs rounding out the set were well-received.
