Ian Anderson on Jethro Tull's New String Quartet Collection

This edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” originally aired on TUESDAY, AUGUST 15, 2017

Musical Guest:   IAN ANDERSON of Jethro Tull

IAN ANDERSON -- flutist, vocalist, songwriter, founder of JETHRO TULL  returns to rock Chicago at The Chicago Theater on August 19th.  Although the live concert features the full band and is chock full of Tull hits, this radio interview focuses on Ian's most recent recording project, "JETHRO TULL: THE STRING QUARTETS.

That project is a recently released set of 12 wholly re-imagined tunes from the beloved Tull catalog, beautifully arranged by Tull's musical director and keyboardist JOHN O'HARA for string quartet and recorded with THE CARDUCCI QUARTET and ANDERSON in the crypt of a centuries old cathedral.

Songs heard during this program sport such revised titles such as "Aquafugue," "Songs And Horses," "Farm: The Fourway," "In The Past" and "Bungle."
