Spotlighting 2017's "Festival of the Lakes" with Mayor Thomas McDermott, Jr.

This edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” originally aired on Tuesday, July 11, 2017

GUEST: MAYOR THOMAS McDERMOTT of Hammond, IN

This edition of "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges" welcomes MAYOR THOMAS McDERMOTT, Jr. of Hammond to talk about his city's "14th Annual Festival of The Lakes" -- running JULY 19 thru JULY 23.

TOM LOUNGES and the Mayor discuss the history of the festival, making it affordable to the public, keeping patrons safe, and special festival events that often get overlooked because of the top headline talent -- the polka party, the classic car show, the broad selection of food, and more.

The primary focus of this program is of course on the music!   The various headline artists will be discussed and a song or two from each headliner   -- KOOL & THE GANG, BUSH, LIMP BIZKIT, FLO RIDA, and INTOCABLE -- is featured between interview segments.

What kind of music does Mayor McDermott personally like?  What artist does he most look forward to seeing perform at Festival of the Lakes?  What nights are expected to be the best attended?   Listen to this program for the answers and learn more about Mayor McDermott -- the music fan!
