Poison's RIKKI ROCKETT Talks About Beating Drums, Beating Odds, & Beating Cancer

This edition of  “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" originally aired on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14, 2017

MUSICAL GUEST: RIKKI ROCKETT of POISON

"Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges" did a special broadcast  featuring RIKKI ROCKETT of POISON for region fans reliving their '80s memories at the big concert on  SATURDAY, JUNE 24 at at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Illinois.  The four founding members of Poison -- Rikki Rockett, Bret Michaels, Bobby Dall and C.C. DeVille -- are out on the road doing headline shows and package shows with Def Leppard and Telsa this summer in celebration of the band's 30th Anniversary.

POISON's drummer and founding member RIKKI ROCKETT chats with Tom Lounges about the summer tour, the band's history, being a cancer survivor, his passion for motorcycles, and his all-star side band Devil City Angels.

Plenty of POISON tunes get played during the course of this interview program, including: "Every Rose Has It's Thorn," "I Want Action," "Fallen Angel," "Look What The Cat Dragged In," "Unskinny Bop," "Ride The Wind," and others.   There's even a The Devil City Angels cut that gets a spin.

Tom Lounges has been a radio personality and music journalist since 1979. For the last 43 years, Tom has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly music columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper.
