Guitar Virtuoso ERIC JOHNSON Showcases His Acoustic Side

SPECIAL WEDNESDAY BROADCAST!

This edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” originally aired on Wednesday, May 17, 2017

MUSICAL GUEST: Guitar Virtuoso ERIC JOHNSON

In celebration of ERIC JOHNSON performing tomorrow (5/18) at THE ACORN THEATER in Three Oaks, Michigan (8pm Eastern), the opportunity has arisen to feature ERIC on this special edition of Lakeshore Public Radio's weekly music interview program, "MIDWEST BEAT WITH TOM LOUNGES."

Eric Johnson may not be the first to come to mind, but he stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of them.  In fact, he has played and/or recorded with most -- Chet Atkins, B.B. King, James Burton, Jerry Reed, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John McLaughlin, Jimmie Vaughan, Sonny Landreth, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Dweezil  Zappa, among many others.

Johnson has been part of the "Experience Hendrix" touring line-up four times and Eric Clapton is so impressed with Johnson's mad skills, that he tapped him to play the first "Crossroads Guitar Festival" in 2004.  Selections from Johnson's latest two albums -- "Live In Europe" and his first ever acoustic album, "E.J." will be featured on tonight's program.
