Casual Fridays March 24th, 2017

Brianne Coleman, a domestic violence survivor who credits St. Jude House for her healing and her life’s turnaround, has started a new organization, Dimensions of Intersections, to help others in her former situation.

Her life has been rocky and, in many ways, it reflects Women’s History Month, which we are marking this month. We’ll talk with Brianne in a just a minute about her new support group and its hope for women across the region.

Later in the show, we’ll dribble through our March Madness predictions for the NCAA tourney, allowing fans a slam dunk for our true national pastime – wasting time together, as Jerry believes.

Since last week, millions of American workers have been conducting a full-court press in the workplace with their NCAA picks. Some experts say it will again be a slam dunk for office morale, though a defensive struggle regarding daily productivity. Let’s face it. If we weren’t sneaking peeks at our brackets or watching these games, we’d be doing other unnecessary pursuits, such as surfing Facebook, Instagram, news sites or the latest Tweet from our president.

We will also revisit our popular segment, "What's YOUR Hang-up" by airing a couple of voice mails from listeners and readers. Plus, of all the reader feedback Jerry received about his recent column - "All of us want our partner to be happy after our death, but..." - one stands out, and the reader is writing from Spain of all places. We’ll share it with Lakeshore listeners.
