& Memorial Opera House Business Director SCOT MacDONALD
This week's "A LOOK AT THE ARTS with Tom Lounges" radio program features a live interview with celebrated actor ED ASNER. The seven time EMMY Award-winning television icon is coming to Northwest Indiana on Wednesday MAY 3 to perform his new comedy stage-play "A Man And His Prostate" at Valparaiso's Memorial Opera House.
Mr. Asner is perhaps best known to TV audiences as LOU GRANT and is one of the most honored actors in television history, with 16 EMMY nominations, five Golden Globe Awards, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild!
Asner is also famous with today's children as the voice of "Carl Frederickson" in the Pixar box-office animated film, "UP". Among his other acting accomplishments -- aside from "The Mary Tyler Moore" and "Lou Grant" series of the 1970s -- Asner has been seen in over 100 television programs, in recent years on such hit series as "The Good Wife," "Criminal Minds," "Mom," "The Crazy Ones," "Hawaii 5-0," "Bones," and others.
He recently was on stage touring America in his highly praised one man stage-play -- "FDR" -- based on the life and career of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Asner's new one man stage-play -- "A Man And His Prostate" -- was created and written by award winning Ed Weinberger.
Asner talks with Tom Lounges and Scot MacDonald on this program about his long career and about this new live theater production that MacDonald is bringing to the Memorial Opera House on May 3rd as a Fundraiser for the Memorial Opera House Foundation. This radio program is one of host Lounges' personal favorite shows in years... Lots of laughing, lots of surprise answers from a brilliant and beloved actor.
