“ECHOES” OF CLASSIC PINK FLOYD ON MIDWEST BEAT

Originally broadcast on TUESDAY, DEC. 6, 2016

IN-STUDIO GUEST: ECHOES OF POMPEII

CHICAGOLAND'S PREMIER PINK FLOYD TRIBUTE IS ACTUALLY FROM N.W. INDIANA

Five members of the 11-piece ECHOES OF POMPEII: A Tribute To Pink Floyd group stopped in-studio for this installment of “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges.”     The members discussed the Northwest Indiana-based band’s origins, long career, celebrity ties, and the complexities of recreating and performing some of the most intricate music every created in the rock music world.

The members — Jason, Jeremy, Andy, Allison and Jessica — performed a trio of live stripped down, acoustic versions of Pink Floyd songs, while also sharing information about their upcoming New Year’s Eve concerts at The Theatre at the Center in Munster.

Echoes of Pompeii recreate the Pink Floyd concert experience and sound with an elaborate shows comprised of lasers, robotic lights, video project, and iconic images.   They perform songs from all eras of Pink Floyd’s catalog and career — from the early Syd Barrett days, to the latter day music, and even from the band’s post-Roger Waters era.

Tom Lounges has been a radio personality and music journalist since 1979. For the last 43 years, Tom has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly music columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper.
