This edition of the “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” is a “Legacy” program focusing on the powerful musical impact of iconic Chicago bluesman, MUDDY WATERS.

 

Live in studio to guest with show host/producer Tom Lounges, is Muddy’s son, JOSEPH MORGANFIELD.  Himself very involved with today’s Chicago blues scene, Joseph  hand picks some favorite Muddy Waters’ songs to play, as he discusses his father’s legacy and gives listeners a peek into the man behind the music.

 

Muddy Waters, was born McKinley Morganfield, and had a string of early hits in the 1950s and is widely considered one of the most important figures in blues music. Muddy came to Chicago in the 1940s, living for decades on the South Side and recording for the legendary Chess Records, before he later moved to Westmont in the 1970s.
