The musical guest for this edition of “A LOOK AT THE ARTS with Tom Lounges” is ROBERT EARL KEEN, who is currently sharing a co-headline national tour with LYLE LOVETT that stops this Saturday, October 15 at Star Plaza Theater in Merrillville for an 8pm performance.

ROBERT EARL KEEN has carved out a solid place in the Americana pantheon alongside musical giants like Steve Earle, Patti Griffin, Lyle Lovett and Joe Ely.

Keen’s music has a devoted fan base of not only music fans, but also fellow artists, many of which who have recorded his songs over the years.

Saturday’s Star Plaza performance will be done in a stripped down “An Evening With…” format with Keen and Lovett performing together with a pair of guitars, a boatload of songs, and lots of great stories.

On this edition of “A Look At The Arts,” you will hear some tracks from ROBERT EARL KEEN’s soon to be released new concert album — “Live Dinner Reunion” on Dueltone Records, that includes a song featuring Lyle Lovett.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
