This  edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges aired October 4, 2016

A tribute to EVA CASSIDY with guest Bill Straw”

This edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges,” remembers the gifted singer and song interpreter EVA CASSIDY, while featuring tracks from her last recorded concert, a remarkable performance given on January 3, 1996.

Fame eluded talented Washington, D.C. singer-songwriter EVA CASSIDY who died of melanoma in 1996, but with the help of BLIX STREET RECORDS,  Cassidy’s music has  lived on and the recordings she left behind have since found fans worldwide posthumously.

This program features songs from — “NIGHTBIRD:  THE COMPLETE BLUES ALLEY CONCERT RECORDINGS” – and an interview with BILL STRAW, the president of Blix Street, who has preserved Eva’s voice for future generations!

With the help of Bill Straw, Eva Cassidy’s life and music is celebrated as listeners hear her warm and wonderful treatments of “Fields Of Gold,” “People Get Ready,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Blue Skies,” and a haunting rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”
