IN-STUDIO GUESTS: BLUESMAN DARIO LOMBARDO (from Italy)
& Chicago Blues Hall of Fame Inductee LIZ MANDEVILLE
with special guests: BOB MANDARINO, RANDY JOHNSON & VINCENT L. ABRAMS
While in town for a final week of live shows in the Midwest, visiting Italian bluesman DARIO LOMBARDO, returned for a second consecutive week to the Lakeshore Public Radio studio to guest and play live on “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges.” Dario was a member of the late Phil Guy’s European touring band and has recorded several of his own albums under the name Dario Lombardo & The Blues Gang.
Last week’s appearance found DARIO in studio to accompany Chicago Blues Hall of Famer LIZ MANDEVILLE in playing live on air and discussing her latest album, “THE STARS MOTEL,” on which Dario co-wrote and performed.
For this program Dario discussed his own career, Italy’s blues scene over the years, while spotlighting songs from his latest two album releases. He again played live in studio — this time with Ms. Mandeville AND special guests guitarist BOB MANDARINO, blues singer RANDY JOHNSON and trumpeter VINCENT L. ABRAMS. Two new songs co-written and recorded by Lombardo and Mandeville from “The Stars Motel” that were not featured on last week’s show are heard on this program
