For over 4 decades GEORGE THOROGOOD has been rocking and rolling around the world, logging over 8,000 live shows under his belt, while selling some 15 million albums worldwide.
As he prepares to bring his live show to Hammond’s “Festival of the Lakes”on Friday, July 22 (with special guest The Steepwater Band) — the maverick guitar-slinger will take time to call in to “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges” to talk about his ongoing “Badder Than Ever” tour, how he came to play the blues, the re-issuing of his classic catalog, and his fabulous band, The Destroyers – Jeff Simon (drums, percussion), Bill Blough (bass guitar), Jim Suhler (rhythm guitar) and Buddy Leach (saxophone).
A handful of Thorogood classics including “Who Do You Love”, “I Drink Alone”, “Move It On Over”, and “Bad To The Bone” will be played on tonight’s program, along with a couple of tasty tracks from his most recent album, “2120 South Michigan Avenue,” a tribute to Chicago’s legendary Chess Records and its artists.
