RICH ROBINSON — CROWES GUITARIST BACK TO FLYING SOLO WITH NEW ALBUM, REISSUES AND A TOUR

This edition of  “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” originally aired on Tuesday, JUNE 14, 2016

MUSICAL GUEST:  Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter RICH ROBINSON (formerly of The Black Crowes)

The guest for this installment of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges”is singer/songwriter and blues-rock guitar great RICH ROBINSON, a founding member/guitarist of THE BLACK CROWES.   With that band now officially behind him, Robinson is focusing once again on his solo career.  Along with re-releasing expanded versions of his four previous solo albums, Robinson has written and recorded a brand new 13 song collection aptly titled, “FLUX,” being released June 24 by Eagle Rock Entertainment.

On this program, Lakeshore Public Radio listeners have the opportunity to get an advance listen of some new songs from “FLUX,” as Robinson discusses his musical journey — past, present and future — including his guest guitarist role on this summer’s Bad Company U.S. Tour and how he came to team up with that band’s iconic front man and vocalist/songwriter, PAUL RODGERS.  Select songs from his re-issued solo debut album, “PAPER,” are also featured on this program as well as a brief medley of the Black Crowes live Greek Theater performance with legendary guitarist JIMMY PAGE

Robinson’s newly reissued catalog albums — “Paper,” “Llama Blues,” “Through A Crooked Sun,” and “Woodstock Sessions” (on CD and colored vinyl) — are now available via Eagle Rock Entertainment. More on Rich Robinson: www.richrobinson.net.      NOTE: RICH ROBINSON – photo by Alysse Gafkjen
