SWITCHBACK BRINGS CELTIC SOUNDS TO MIDWEST BEAT FOR ST. PAT’S WEEK.

A special St. Patrick’s edition of  “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges” was heard  this tonight as the internationally-popular Celtic-American group — SWITCHBACK — paid a visit as in-studio guests. 

The founding duo — BRIAN FITZGERALD and MARTIN McCORMACK — have been playing their brand of eclectic music at sold-out concert halls and festivals around the world for over 20 years throughout the U.S., Canada, Ireland, the U.K., Italy, and the Netherlands, playing over 200 engagements a year.

Their PBS-TV specials — “The Americana Sessions” and “The Celtic Sessions” — have aired throughout the U.S.   SWITCHBACK were on the program to promote their 8pm all-ages MARCH 17th St. Pat’s dinner/concert at Munster’s Theatre at the Center.

Switchback do outreach programs for schools, senior groups, and special needs audiences. In short, Switchback are incredibly talented guys who enjoy giving back and inspiring others share their love of music.  Tonight Lakeshore listeners got to know Switchback and heard some of their music, as the program celebrated the Celtic sounds of ST. PATRICK’s DAY!

 

Tom Lounges has been a radio personality and music journalist since 1979. For the last 43 years, Tom has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly music columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper.
