The Buckingham's CARL GIAMMARESE Debuts New Solo Album On “MIDWEST BEAT”

This “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” originally aired on MARCH 8, 2016

GUEST:  Singer/Songwriter CARL GIAMMARESE of THE BUCKINGHAMS

The guest  on this installment of “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges” is Chicago-born and bred music veteran — CARL GIAMMARESE — best known in the music world as the lead guitarist and vocalist for THE BUCKINGHAMS, the iconic 1960s pop sensations who were voted “America’s Favorite Band” in 1967, appeared on all the big TV shows like “Hullabaloo,” “American Bandstand” and “The Ed Sullivan Show,”  and who amassed a string of Top 20 hits during that era.

While his continued success as one of two original members still in THE BUCKINGHAMS makes Giammarese a great guest for any music program, his resume also includes 1970s acoustic recording projects, years of commercial jingles, and most recently a return to writing fresh material both for his famous band and his own solo albums.  Show host Tom Lounges has known Giammarese for decades and was thrilled Carl chose “Midwest BEAT” to be the show to debut a few of the brand new songs from his just released album.

“Carl is no one trick pony,” said Lounges.  “He still rocks, still captivates a stage, still writes great songs,  and his voice has never been better, especially when he wraps it around a love ballad.”

Tom Lounges has been a radio personality and music journalist since 1979. For the last 43 years, Tom has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly music columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper.
