Road projects are set to get underway in Lake Station and Schererville.
Ripley Street will be down to one lane in each direction between I-80/94 and Old Hobart Road, starting Monday. The Indiana Department of Transportation says crews will be working on a bridge deck overlay project through mid-October.
Meanwhile, the town of Schererville says 77th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between St. John Road and U.S. 41, as NIPSCO crews replace utility poles in the area. Paving work will take place on 85th Avenue between Alexander and Parrish over the next 30 days.
