State police investigating after truck struck by bullets on I-80/94

photo provided by Indiana State Police

Indiana State Police are investigating, after someone apparently shot at a semi truck on I-80/94 Monday. Troopers say it happened just before 3:00 p.m., in the eastbound lanes, just past the state line. The truck driver told police that a small gray car with Illinois plates shot at his truck for no apparent reason.

When police got there, they say they found two bullet holes in the truck. One of the bullets apparently entered the cab near the driver's legs, hit a cup holder and then a can of Mountain Dew. The truck driver wasn't hurt.

State police are looking for information about a gray Nissan with Illinois license plates. Anyone with information about the car or the suspect is asked to call 219-696-6242.
