Some South Shore trains will make extra stops for Saturday's Kenny Chesney concert at Soldier Field. Westbound trains will stop at 18th Street at 11:04 a.m. and 2:33 p.m. Eastbound trains will pick up passengers there at 9:21 and 11:21 p.m.
On Sunday, the South Shore Line will also run extra eastbound trains for those returning from the Chicago Pride Parade. They will leave Millennium Station at 4:25 and 6:00 p.m., stop at Van Buren three minutes later, and then make all local stops from Hegewisch to Dune Park, with buses from there to Carroll Avenue.
Meanwhile, the Lake County Highway Department has announced multiple road closures next week. Austin Avenue will be closed between 77th and 85th Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day for drainage repairs. White Oak will also be closed for drainage repairs between 125th and 135th, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Meanwhile, railroad crossing repairs will have Belshaw Road closed between Calhoun and Colfax Monday morning through Friday afternoon.
Detours will be set up for through traffic, and drivers are asked to use caution through work zones.
