In Schererville, Junction Avenue will be closed Thursday for the removal of a railroad crossing. The town says the road will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as Canadian National works with the town to take out the tracks and pave the roadway.
Local traffic will be able to access each side of the crossing from Kennedy Avenue or Joliet Street. Drivers are urged to find another route, if possible.
