Hebron man found dead after mowing crew spots crashed motorcycle

provided by Indiana State Police

A Hebron man is dead after an apparent motorcycle crash. Indiana State Police say mowing crews working near the I-65/U.S. 231 interchange Thursday morning found the motorcycle off the roadway resting on its side. Crown Point Police then found the body of the driver, Robert J. Nolbertowicz Jr., 51.

State Police believe he was riding on the ramp from 231 to southbound I-65, when the motorcycle ran off the ramp and rolled over, causing fatal injuries. Troopers say Nolbertowicz had been reported missing Wednesday by the Hammond Police Department, and they aren't sure when the crash happened.

The entrance ramp was closed for about two hours during the crash investigation.
