U.S. 231 could soon be getting a roundabout. Members of the public are being asked to weigh in on proposed changes to the intersection of 231 and Cline Avenue in St. John.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says it currently sees a high rate of crashes and injuries, but changing the stoplight to a roundabout could improve safety. If the project moves forward as proposed, construction would take place in 2024 and would cost the state an estimated $2.7 million.
INDOT and the Troyer Group will hold a public hearing Wednesday, March 9 at 6:00 p.m. at Suncrest Christian Church on Parrish Avenue in St. John. Written comments may also be sent to the Troyer Group or the INDOT LaPorte District by March 23.
