When the polls close, you'll know. Tune-in for election night coverage, beginning at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, May 8th. You can follow the latest updates on social media, as well, with #NWIPolitics.
Starting at 6:00 PM, Lakeshore Public Radio - 89.1 FM will air statewide primary election night coverage from Indiana Public Broadcasting. Stan Jastrzebski, News Director of WBAA, will host the first hour of coverage from West Lafayette, IN.
Then, at 7:00, local host Chris Nolte, host of "Regionally Speaking" and "Morning Edition," will bring Northwest Indiana up-to-speed on what's happening across the Region. Joining Chris in-studio will be Ryan Priest, who will have the latest poll numbers from the Associated Press. Political commentators joining Chris will include Marie and Maurice Eisenstein, and Sam Barloga in-studio, and Leigh Morris over the phone. Michael Puente, from WBEZ, will join our coverage as well.
We'll also hear from Times reporters, who are covering local races and candidates. Once races come to a close, we'll hear from the winning candidates from the biggest races in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte Counties on what to expect for the midterm elections in November.
Not in our coverage area, or maybe you'll be out of Northwest Indiana? You can stream the coverage live on our website, or on your NPR App, just search for "WLPR." We'll also stream the live broadcast on Facebook Live.
