April 2, 2014 — The Statehouse File.com —

Monday is the last day for Hoosiers to register to vote in the primary election on May 6.

Voters can register at county clerks’ offices – typically at local courthouses or government buildings – or at license branches. Hoosiers can also register by mail with a postmark of no later than Monday.

“The voter registration deadline is right around the corner,” said Secretary of State Connie Lawson. “I encourage everyone who is not registered to register today to make your vote count.”

Hoosiers can visit IndianaVoters.com to verify, update, or start a voter registration.

Voter registration forms and submitting instructions are also available at the website.

Active duty military members and their spouses can register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot by completing the Federal Post Card Application to ensure they receive their absentee ballot on time. The application can be completed online at www.fvap.gov.

“Many military members are serving far away from home on Election Day,” Lawson said. “We are calling on those here at home to remind their loved ones serving overseas to register to vote and to apply for an absentee ballot.”

Voters can also request an absentee ballot and verify their polling location at www.indianavoters.com.
