Visclosky “Appalled” At Congressional Inaction
October 11, 2013 — With national debt payment ability ending within a week Congress is treating it with the same inaction it used for keeping a federal budget.
Indiana’s First District United States Representative Pete Visclosky says he’s appalled with inaction by Congress.
The Merrillville Democrat says a proposal is in negotiation in Congress to extend the nation’s debt payment ability for six weeks.
He told Lakeshore’s Jerry Howard the measure does not address the federal government’s expired operating budget, ignoring the government’s obligations to the public. Click to watch.
Visclosky says he expects the possible vote on the debt ceiling extension to occur in the next day or two.
