Valparaiso University Lights Tree, In Holiday Spirit

Share Tweet Email

December 5, 2013 — Valparaiso University’s 2013 Christmas tree is lit for the season.

The tree lighting today occurred as VU music groups prepared for this weekend’s holiday concert, when dozens of Valparaiso University students will lend their voices to ring in the holiday spirit this weekend.

Rehearsals are underway for the university’s annual Christmas concert.  This year the show will feature three of the university’s choirs, the chamber concert band and the symphony orchestra.  The program also includes music by John Rutter, David Wilcox and Handel.

The first performance will be at the Chapel of the Resurrection tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday night’s performance begins at 5 p.m.  Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 ten dollars for senior citizens and non-Valparaiso University students.  The concert is free to VU students, faculty and staff.
