US tops Slovenia

BARCELONA (AP) — Klay Thompson’s 20 points paced the United States to a 119-76 rout of Slovenia in the quarterfinals at the World Cup. James Harden scored 12 of his 14 points in the third quarter when the Americans started to pull away for their 61st consecutive win in international competition. Kenneth Faried also scored 14. The United States is expected to face its first significant test of the tournament when they face Lithuania in the semifinals Thursday.
