Union Comments On Allegant Cancelling Gary Service
The union that represents flight attendants at Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel say they are “disappointed” that the airline will cancel service between Gary and Orlando, Florida by mid-August. Gary/Chicago International Airport Interim Director Steve Landry says the airline told him that the flight no longer fit its revenue model.
WillAllegiantBeThere.org, a Transport Workers Union website, features an “UnRoute Map” that shows more than a dozen routes cancelled by Allegiant, and eight cities which no longer receive any service at all. TWU vice president Thom McDaniel says they’ll now have to make it nine, with the loss of the Gary airport service by August 10th.
