Two top 25 games on tap
(AP) — An early season showdown of Pac-12 South rivals is on tap tonight when No. 11 UCLA visits 15th-ranked Arizona State. Both teams go into the game with 3-0 marks and the winner will gain a significant edge for the division title.
UCLA coach Jim Mora isn’t saying whether quarterback Brett Hundley is healthy enough to play after an elbow injury caused him to miss most of the Bruins’ 20-17 victory against Texas on Sept. 13. Jerry Neuheisel stepped in to lead the Bruins to the win.
Arizona State coach Todd Graham has indicated junior Mike Bercovici will make his first career start because of a quarterback Taylor Kelly’s foot injury.
No. 24 Oklahoma State hosts Texas Tech in a battle of 2-1 teams. The Cowboys threw a scare in Florida State before losing in the season opener. Since then they have wins over Missouri State and Texas-San Antonio.
Red Raiders quarterback Davis Webb is third in the Big 12 in total offense and heads up an attack that averages just under 500 yards per game.
The Cowboys have averaged 59 points in their past three games against the Red Raiders, all wins.
