Two Six Nations Gang Members Charged with Killing Another Member
November 21, 2013 — The U.S. Attorney in Hammond says three local gang members face murder charges for killing a fellow member.
U.S. Attorney David Capp shared a federal indictment today charging three Two Six Nation members with the murder of Julio Cartagena in 2003.
Capp says federal murder charges stand against gang members 39-year-old Jesus Fuentes of East Chicago, 34-year-old Kiontay Pennington of Gary, 36-year-old Adron Tancil of East Chicago along with associate 41-year-old Oscar Cosme of East Chicago.
Capp says that after Fuentes directed the other gang members to kidnap Cartagena in 2003 they killed him during the kidnap attempt. Capp says Fuentes believed Cartagena had stolen his cocaine.
Capp calls the Two Six Nation a “violent criminal enterprise” which also kidnapped Cartagena’s family members, whom Hammond police recovered unharmed.
