Two Men Wounded In Weekend Shootings In Gary

A 62-year-old resident went to the hospital late last night with a wound from shots fired by an unknown assailant.  Police Spokesperson Cpl. Gabrielle King said Charles Denson was in his vehicle in the 2300 block of Connecticut Street when he heard shots fired…the back window to his vehicle shattered… and he felt pain and realized he had been shot.   He further states he took cover and when the shooting stopped he drove to safety and his wife who was in the vehicle with him called 911. Gary police detectives are looking for the shooter.

On Friday night….police learned more about a report of a shooting on South Lake Street from a victim found in the 600 block of Grant Street.  Detectives say 16-year-old Isaac Reyes was taken by private vehicle to a hospital emergency room.  Reyes told police that he’d been in the 300 block of South Lake Street when he was shot.
