August 23, 2013 — Gary police say two shootings have different outcomes today.

Police Corporal Gabrielle King says a shooting after 10 p.m. last night sent a man to a hospital emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds.  She says 24-year-old Willie Bailey was going into his home in the 700 block of West 14th Avenue when he heard shot being fired at his house, with gunfire striking Bailey.  Police are investigating the case as attempted homicide and assault with a firearm.

Gary police report the other shooting last night left a man with a pellet wound when he was shot in the back, yet he declined further medical treatment after police and medics attended to him.

Cpl. King says Detective James Bond is assigned to the Bailey case and can be reached at 219-881-4751.
