The Blackhawks hold a 2-0 series lead following their 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday night in game two of their best-of-seven NHL playoff series. Michael Frolik scored the game’s first two goals, one in the 1st period and one in the 2nd period, giving Chicago a 2-0 lead. Frolik’s 2nd period goal came shorthanded, and was the first shorthanded goal for Chicago since 2011. The Wild were able to cut the lead in half, following Devin Setoguchi’s 2nd period goal, to make it 2-1.

But, Patrick Sharp then netted two straight goals in the 3rd period, to give Chicago a 4-1 lead. Marco Scandella scored for the Wild, to make it 4-2, then Bryan Bickell put the puck in an empty net for the final tally of the night for the Blackhawks, to make it a 5-2 final.

Patrick Kane and Andrew Shaw each had 2 assists in the game for Chicago, as the Blackhawks fired 48 shots on net at Josh Harding, and the Wild.
Game 3 is Sunday at 2pm, in Minnesota, where the Blackhawks were 1-0-1 this season. Minnesota’s last playoff victory came in 2008.
