On this edition of “A LOOK AT THE ARTS with Tom Lounges,” we focused on the “art of being Elvis” with two of the world’s top Elvis tribute artists — SHAWN KLUSH and RYAN PELTON — calling in to talk about why slipping into black leather and white jumpsuits is so rewarding for them, and “why it’s good to be King.”
Also discussed with Klush, Pelton and BRENDA HATFIELD who has been running point on the “Elvis Tribute Artist Spectacular” for several years now — is WHY Elvis Presley’s legacy is and impact is still so strong today and why kids not even born when the singer was alive have become huge fans.
And wrapping up the program nicely is a call-in from ESTELLE BROWN, the last surviving member of THE SWEET INSPIRATIONS line-up who actually backed up Presley in the recording studio on at every concert he performed during the 1970s. Estelle shares a few memories of her time with Elvis and gives listeners an insight into the man behind the legend and the image.
Naturally, there’s some Elvis songs spun between each of the guests as well! It’s all ELVIS…from start to finish! So for taking the time to listen, I say — “Thank you! Thank you verrrrrry much!”
