From Drug Smuggler to Informant

David Headley is born Daood Gilani to a Pakistani father and an American mother. He attends a private military school in Pakistan, where he is deeply affected by Pakistan’s war with India. As a young man, he moves to the U.S. When drug agents later catch him for smuggling heroin, Gilani agrees to become a government informant.
