State Takes Steps to Reduce Voter Fraud
October 10, 2013 — The State of Indiana is taking steps to reduce voter fraud.
Secretary of State Connie Lawson announced new voter registration forms yesterday.
The new forms will identify those registering new voters and provide a clear “chain of custody” in the event of any irregularity.
Attempts to conceal false applications or benefit specific political candidates will also be curtailed.
New legislation should prevent those registering voters from hoarding the forms then dumping them on county offices right before elections. Now all new voter registration applications must be submitted within ten days of receipt.
The new forms and procedures were approved by the bi-partisan Indiana Election Commission.
