State Police Take Issue with Gary
In July, Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson asked Gov. Mike Pence to provide troopers to temporarily police the streets of the city, after a spike in homicides. Without saying no, the Governor instead offered a state police assessment of the police department, as a first step. That report came out late last week.
