State Encourages Disaster Preparedness

INDIANAPOLIS – State officials are urging Hoosiers to be ready for emergencies and disasters as part of the promotion of National Preparedness Month.

The Indiana State Department of Health says households with infants and disabilities need to pay special attention to that preparation to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable. That includes having favorite toys or games for kids and plenty of food. For family members with disabilities, make sure to have extra medicines or special foods that they might need.

This year’s National Preparedness Month is focused on turning awareness into action of all individuals and all communities to create individual and community wide preparation plans. Preparation information and events will be posted to
