Southern Indiana School District May Lead In Pre-K

October 29, 2014 —  Pre-k is a hot topic across the state, and in one Indiana county it’s also an issue on this fall’s ballot.   Bartholomew County voters will decide on a seven-year tax levy next week that would fund preschool scholarships for disadvantaged families in the local school district.

A similar referendum failed when it appeared on the ballot in 2012.

A renewed statewide interest in pre-k could help the county’s cause, but as StateImpact Indiana’s Rachel Morello reports, there is much more for community members to consider.
